• Is Gorilla Drum™ really a sustainable steel alternative?

  Yes. Gorilla Drum™ is constructed using lightweight, flexible, and recyclable polypropylene corrugated inserts and fabric. Gorilla Drum™ is steel drum strong with a lightweight, foldable form.

• How much does a single, unfilled Gorilla Drum™ unit weigh?

  A single, unfilled Gorilla Drum unit weighs just 7.5 lbs. Traditional 55-gallon steel drums clock in anywhere from 48 lbs to 80 lbs, which makes Gorilla Drum a lighter, more versatile, and more efficient packaging and waste disposal option.  

• Is Gorilla Drum™ certified for handling hazardous waste liquids?

  Yes, the Gorilla Drum™ is DOT permitted for transporting hazardous liquids when packed in accordance to lab pack regulations. Gorilla Drum™ is also approved for the following Classes of Hazardous Materials: 2.1, 2.2, 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 8, and 9.

• Can Gorilla Drum™ be double-stacked on a pallet or standard 53-foot semi?

  Yes. Gorilla Drum TM has been stack tested to 1,000 lbs. per unit when filled to capacity.  It is strictly prohibited to transport hazardous waste while double stacked. 

• What is the weight capacity of a Gorilla Drum™ unit?

  A single Gorilla Drum™ 55-gallon unit has a weight capacity of 452 lbs. with a 6:1 safety factor.  

• Is Gorilla Drum™ really more versatile?

  The lightweight, foldable form of Gorilla Drum™ makes it fully collapsible and easily stored in even the most compact spaces. In fact, 4,160 collapsed units fit in (1) standard 53 foot truck!  This innovation drastically reduces shipping and environmental costs. Gorilla Drums™ are easily moved with a fork-lift and engineered, self-standing lift loops. They can also be moved with a two-wheel cart or dolly using the attached belly band. 

• Does Gorilla Drum™ come equipped with a lid to safely store and transport materials?

  Yes! Gorilla Drum™ units provide unparalleled protection via a reinforced, double zipper top.

  Yes, your Gorilla Drum™ has passed all testing and certification standards for Lab Packs. The lightweight, foldable design makes it a perfect fit for universities, laboratories, medical facilities, and warehouses.

• Will my Haz-Mat labels stick to Gorilla Drum™?

  Each Gorilla Drum TM has a proprietary clear front panel designed for Haz-Mat labeling. You can use your current drum labels on Gorilla Drum™.
