GORILLA DRUM™
ROI
CALCULATOR

What are your steel drums really costing you?
Save space, time, and cost of handling traditional 55-gallon steel drums, including transport, storage, handling, disposal, and operating risk with Gorilla Drum.
Gorilla Drum™ has a weight capacity of 452 lbs. with a 6:1 safety factor and is DOT permitted for transporting hazardous liquids when packed in accordance to lab pack regulations. Gorilla Drum™ is also approved for the following Classes of Hazardous Materials: 2.1, 2.2, 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 8, and 9.
Based on your current drum process inputs.
Gorilla Drum Saves You BIG Time
Gorilla Drum reduces the hidden costs of traditional steel drums across the entire lifecycle: less storage space, less handling time, lower labor burden, reduced cleaning, disposal, and recycling costs, fewer incident exposures, and a simpler path from transport to use to end-of-life handling.

Calculation Model
This calculator estimates annual cost savings by comparing a traditional 55-gallon steel drum process against the Gorilla Drum™ system across five operational cost categories. All inputs are user-supplied; all reduction percentages are based on Gorilla Drum™ operational benchmarks.
- Procurement. Annual drum volume multiplied by your delivered cost per drum (drum + freight). Gorilla Drum™ delivered cost is modeled at $72 per drum, all-in, to a typical North American destination.
- Storage. Annual warehouse cost for the space currently occupied by steel drums. The model assumes Gorilla Drum™ reduces storage footprint by 85%, based on the collapsibility of empty units and the elimination of pallet-stacking between use cycles.
- Labor. Total annual labor hours for handling, transport, fill, and end-of-life processing. The model assumes 4 labor hours per steel drum (two workers × two hours across the lifecycle) versus 0.5 labor hours per Gorilla Drum™.
- Cleaning, Disposal & Recycling. The model assumes Gorilla Drum™ reduces end-of-life costs by 80%. Because Gorilla Drum™ is incineratable and engineered as a single-use system, traditional steel drum cleaning, hauling, and recycling steps are largely eliminated.
- Incident / Spill Exposure. If an annual incident cost is entered, the model assumes Gorilla Drum™ reduces incident exposure by 95%, reflecting the lower handling risk of a lightweight, collapsible, purpose-built hazardous-materials container.
Regulatory & Certification Notes
Gorilla Drum™ is engineered for hazardous-material transport and storage and meets the following standards:
- DOT permitted for the transport of hazardous liquids when packed in accordance with lab pack regulations.
- UN-rated for hazardous-material packaging.
- HAZMAT approved for Hazard Classes 2.1, 2.2, 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1, 8, and 9.
- 452 lb. weight capacity with a 6:1 safety factor.
- Collapsible, lightweight, and incineratable — engineered to reduce storage, handling, and disposal costs across the full lifecycle.
Important Notes
All cost reductions modeled in this calculator are estimates derived from Gorilla Drum™ operational benchmarks. Actual savings vary by facility, geography, drum mix, contents handled, and operational practices. We recommend an onsite evaluation to model your specific operation in detail.
